There are a number of benefits associated with using broadband Symmetric Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) compared with an ISDN connection. Internet use is extremely quick with SDSL, while costs can be properly monitored as there is a fixed monthly charge.

The United Kingdom Land Registry introduced direct access to its information by the Internet in June 2000. Early in 2001 further services will be available in the hope that electronic conveyancing will take over form paper.
