Homebuyer protection plan that works

Article Abstract:

The National Assn of Realtors and the Mortgage Bankers Assn of America have developed a better Homebuyer Protection Plan. They have revised the 1998 proposal of the US Dept of Housing and Urban Development by making the plan mutually beneficial to both home buyers and real estate professionals.

Too good to be true

Article Abstract:

The FBI has reported that about $60 billion in fraudulent mortgage loans are processed yearly and half of that amount is lost to scam artists and bogus deals. Many mortgage brokers may be engaged in illegal transactions and potential mortgagees must be careful in releasing their loan documents.

Foiling the predator

Article Abstract:

Political pressure is being applied in Congress to produce measures to protect consumers from unscrupulous mortgage lenders. Issues are discussed concerning the predatory marketing of mortgages and the ways in which consumers can protect themselves.
