The property market in the A12 corridor in Essex, UK, is benefitting from improvements in infrastructure, for example improved road communications and the planned high-speed rail link between St Pancras and Europe. Demand for office and industrial space has risen in towns including Ilford, Romford and Brentford. The extension of the M11 to the Docklands in east London is benefitting developments in the A12 corridor, because of the easier access it allows to the City: the economy of Essex depends heavily on the financial services sector.

Looking for more than a pretty face

Leatherhead, England, has experienced a resurgence in demand for office space from companies wishing to relocate to the area to take advantage of the nearness of the M25. Although the town has few facilities for leisure pursuits or shopping these problems are being addressed with expansion planned in both areas. Nearby towns such as Dorking, although outwardly more attractive, higher costs and increased traffic congestion makes most companies favour Leatherhead.

Fast forward on the big screen
Article Abstract:
Centralized leisure facilities with enough variety to interest a whole family throughout a day-long visit are being developed in Surrey, England. These would include cinemas, restaurants, swimming pools and fitness clubs within one complex. It is hoped that the new facilities would not only be used by local residents but would attract people from all over the South East. Some funding has come from a unique partnership between the public and private sectors.
