Article Abstract:

The Wielding Institute has a 20% share of joint venture with MEPC to build a 89 acre science park near Cambridge, England. The development, known as Granta Park, offers a wide range of services, such as a day nursery and shops. Architect Eric Parry points out he has designed the site to allow a number of different of buildings to suit the tenants' requirements. Rents on the new site are around 15.70 pounds per sq ft. Chiroscience are planning to move into a 14 million pounds sterling building at Granta Park. Similar developments are being built in Cumbria, England, and in Sussex, England.

Moving with the market

Article Abstract:

The improving economy in North Wales is having a positive effect on the industrial property market and much optimism exists within the industry. Estate agents have reported an increased amount of interest in the sector and believe that these enquiries will turn into firm agreements during the second half of 1996. The Welsh Development Agency has sold many of its coastal sites to private developers who are expected to inject some vigour into the marketplace. The road network will also be improved in the area of Bryngwran and Caergeiliog.

Changing perspective: Trafford Park

Article Abstract:

Investors and retail companies at Trafford Park industrial estate in Manchester, England are concerned that traffic conjestion on the adjacent M63 motorway will affect their trade. The site is becoming increasingly popular with developers who want to take advantage of government grants, and some sites are being developed on a design-and-build basis. All the large sites have been taken up by developers such as Gregory Properties.
