The health care industry has experienced several modifications for the past 15 years primarily due to consumer awareness and increasing costs. Participants have also been dared to discover new and improved ways to cope with a vast changing environment. Changes in managed care have also caused risk-shifting which is the underlying factor in minimal profit margins for hospitals. Somehow, hospitals should learn to invest in several business deals and financings in order to exist.

Loan servicers for mortgage-backed securities should compare the net recovery value of an asset on a present value basis with the total estimated advance amount and interest to determine whether a servicing advance is recoverable or not. If the recovery value of the asset is less than the advance amount, such advance will be considered unrecoverable. However, this process should be carried out using a range of discount and capitalization rates.
