County tenants to gain from the White Paper

Article Abstract:

Tenants of county council smallholdings are likely to be given the first option to buy the properties under the UK government's new rural White Paper. This will benefit existing tenants, but will prevent county smallholdings from being an integral part of the local community. It could also stop merchant bank Kleinwort Benson from going ahead with plans to form an investment fund to purchase and manage smallholding estates.
