Issues concerning ways in which variations in the property leasing terms can affect tenants and landlords are discussed. Particular attention is given to methods of avoiding problems created by stamp duty or new tenancy, including extending the lease in order to create a reversionary period.

The ways in which the relationship between landlords and tenants can be affected by the UK Disability Discrimination Act are considered. Issues addressed include how the impact on rent of any tenant's adjustments under the Act will be handled at rent review.
