Abbey joins High Street sell-off

Article Abstract:

National and Provincial Building Society will see 140 of its branches sold off by Abbey National. The two concerns will together have 870 branches after the sale of the properties, which are mainly in the south east and the Midlands. This move is among a number of sales of High Street properties recently, but retail experts report that the volume of property becoming available is largely in line with demand.

MTV needs more London space for expansion plan

Article Abstract:

Edward Charles and Partners has received instructions from cable channel MTV Europe to seek 150,000 sq ft of offices in central London. MTV plans to bring all its operations together into one building within the next two years, with its preference being for a prelet. Buildings under consideration include Securum's Ark building in Hammersmith.
