A better way to settle

Article Abstract:

Landlords and tenants in the UK will be able to use the new Professional Arbitration on Court Terms (PACT) scheme as a flexible alternative to taking their disputes to court. Under the scheme, landlords and tenants will be able to jointly choose to have the rent and terms of their new lease set by a solicitor or a surveyor. The scheme will offer much faster settlement than using the court route, and will benefit from the fact that those who are appointed as arbitrators and independent experts are experienced professionals.
