Corporate infrastructure management may fast become the future watchword for the corporate community, as real estate becomes tied to the company's competitiveness in a global economy. The trend is being watched by the International Development Research Council, which has developed training programs for corporate infrastructure resource management which members can use for effective asset management. Part of the training includes the use of the Internet as a real estate management tool, especially as corporations see the necessity for sharing timely information on real estate holdings.

Europe is enjoying continuous foreign direct investments from the US fueled in part by the economic crisis in Russia and Asia. Major sources of real estate investments in Europe include US pension fund capital, investment banks, opportunity funds and real estate investment trusts. The countries and cities getting the bulk of investments include Dublin, Ireland, UK, Budapest, Hungary and Brussels, Belgium. Industries benefitting from these investments include chemicals, software, electronics and automotive.

Issues concerning electronic courses for commercial brokers are discussed. Particular attention is given to the impact had by the changes in information technology on the industrial brokerage industry as represented in a study co-authored by Asuka Nakahara.
