Site Selection's 1992 Outstanding Development Groups are presented. These groups were cited for their aggressive business approach and their commitment to providing first-rate services to their corporate clients. They employ creative strategies to attract new investment and continuously upgrade existing-industry services to maintain the viability of their present corporateclients. Their most critical accomplishment involved the generation of new jobs. The list includes Economic Development Commission of Mid-Florida Orlando,FL, Georgia Power Co of Atlanta, GA, and Gulf States Utilities Co of Beaumont, TX.

Ten corporate real estate development groups provided major support in industrial location decisions in 1996. The organizations' expertise and efficient information and customer services enabled companies, such as Motorola and Eastman Kodak, to find low-cost but strategic locations. The organizations, which included Charleston Regional Development Alliance and Charlotte Chamber of Commerce, generated a total of 6,279 new jobs and $918 million in capital investments.
