Article Abstract:
The large number of multimedia companies working in the San Francisco Bay Area work on projects for the entire Silicon Valley and for corporate clientele. Clement Mok design is one of the most successful, furnishing its clients with slick graphics and a large array of clip art with which to work. MetaDesign is a company from Berlin, Germany, which is attempting to cut through the clutter of designs currently produced by focusing on typography rather than visuals.

David Karam of San Francisco's Post Tool Design created Interlace, software which enables clients to make their own changes to Web sites. Interlace is used by the California College of Art and Crafts. It becomes as easy to change a graphic as to do an original graphic. Interlace operates like freeware; clients receive a data management system that is licensed and programmable and half the price of using studio staff.
