Article Abstract:
Dan Eldon spent his childhood in Kenya and developed an interest in all of Africa. He did safaris with friends, worked at Mademoiselle, made a documentary of his life, and traveled in Somalia as a Reuters photographer, where he met his death. Various family members and friends sent Dan's 17 journals to his wife Kathy, who undertook to publish the book 'The Journey is the Destination: the Journals of Dan Eldon,' with Chronicle Books. The first edition went quickly out of print.

Article Abstract:
The Finnish architect and designer, Alvar Aalto, is remembered on February 3, 1998, the centenary of his birth. The majority of the buildings designed by Aalto are located in Finland, with some in the United States and others in Europe. Aalto is also famous for his wood furniture and glass designs which date back to the 1920s. One of the most famous examples is his three-legged stool which has been in production since 1933.
