Stroop interference task and single-photon emission tomography in anorexia: A preliminary report

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to investigate the physiologic substrate of executive function in anorexia nervosa through assessment of the relation between brain perfusion and Stroop interference task [SIT]. Relatively few patients were studied and it was concluded that these preliminary findings limit the study design due to lack of a control group, unfeasibility in controlling relevant confounding variables, such as psychiatric comorbidity, medication and the time available between examinations.

A case report of oxidative stress in a patient with anorexia nervosa

Article Abstract:

The case of a patient with anorexia nervosa (AN) carrying a liver injury is described. The case study shows that oxidative stresses in hepatocytes which might be associated with iron deposition could be involved in the pathogenesis of liver injury in patients with AN.
