Article Abstract:
Research into the relationship between the constructs of soothing receptivity, aloneness and evocative memory capacity in bulimia nervosa (BN) supports the view that the development and maintenance of an eating disorder is connected with early development and indicates a relative lack of ability to control painful affects. The sense of aloneness and problems with affect regulation experienced by BN patients may be characteristics that predispose people to an eating disorder or may play a part in the perpetuation of the disorder.

Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on bulimic and anorexic patients to determine the possible seasonality of symptoms. The study used a modified Seasonal Pattern Assessment Questionnaire to identify seasonality patterns. Results showed the bulimic patients had higher global seasonality scores than anorexic and normal patients. It suggests that seasonality of symptoms are more specific to bulimic patients than to anorexic ones.
