Posthypnotic responding away from the hypnotic setting

Article Abstract:

The postcard method was used to examine the posthypnotic response of subjects away from the laboratory setting and the response to a social request of a different subset of subjects. The behavior and experience of the subject were examined in one experiment which was extended to a real-stimulating paradigm in the second experiment. Results indicate that experience, behavior, individual differences and the social context of the suggestion interact in the course of the subject's response to posthypnotic suggestion.

Multiple hypnotizabilities: Differentiating the building blocks of hypnotic response

Article Abstract:

A full information factor analysis applied to a large data set from 2 hypnotizability scales yielded 4 subscales like Direct Motor, Motor Challenge, Perceptual-Cognitive and Posthypnotic Amnesia that point to the building blocks of hypnotic response. These subscales are used as simultaneous predictors of hypnotic responses in four experiments to distinguish the contribution of each component from general hypnotizability.

Efficiently assessing negative cognition in depression: An item response theory analysis of the dysfunctional attitude scale

Article Abstract:

Authors develop more abbreviated version of Dysfunctional Attitude Scale, form A (DAS-A). Both the abbreviated versions, DAS-S [F.sub.1] and DAS-S [F.sub.2] are highly correlated to the original DAS-A and can accurately assess dysfunctional attitudes of depressed people.
