Mood change during weight restoration in patients with anorexia nervosa

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine mood changes during weight gain treatment in patients with anorexia nervosa (AN). Patients with AN undergoing nutritional rehabilitation demonstrated statistically significant improvement in mood symptoms without the use of adjunctive medication.

Baclofen for binge eating: an open-label trial

Article Abstract:

Baclofen that has been found to be effective for treating various substances use disorders and was tested in animal models is presented. Results show that Baclofen reduces the frequency of binge eating by nearly 50% without having any major bad effects.

Is there a place for obesity in DSM-V?

Article Abstract:

Several researches are conducted to analyze the reasons and the problems associated with terming obesity as a mental or behavioral disorder. More diagnoses based on the pathophysiology associated with obesity are required before including it in DSM-V.
