Histomorphology of the Mandibular condylar cartilage in Greater Galagos (Otolemur spp.)

Article Abstract:

The microanatomy of the condylar cartilage of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) in two closely related species of greater galago, the exudativorous Otolemur crassicaudatus and the frugivorous Otolemur garnettii are discussed. The findings show that Otolemur crassicaudatus can be specialized to resist greater compressive force at the TMJ condylar cartilage in certain regions of the mandibular condyle.

Comparative penile morphology of East African Galagos of the Genus Galagoides (family Galagidae): Implications for taxonomy

Article Abstract:

Museum specimen was used as wild Galagoides cocos, Galagoides granti, Galagoides Zanzibaricus and Galagoides rondoensis from the coastal forests of Tanzania and Kenya were live-trapped and Galagoides Orinus was analyzed. It was seen that adult male Galagoides rondoensis appear to display the penile spines by exposing the distal section of the penis.

Phylogenetic relationships among the Lorisoidea as indicated by Craniodental morphology and mitochondrial sequence data

Article Abstract:

The results of a series of phylogenetic analyses that is based on 635 base pairs (bp) from two mitochondrial genes (12S and 16S rRNA) with and without 36 Craniodental characters for 11 galagid and five lorisid taxa are described. Analysis showed that some consistency that Euoticus should be downgraded to a subgenus of Galago.
