Children's understanding of marital conflict and the marital relationship

Article Abstract:

Children's understanding of marital conflict and the martial relationship was studied in children of five, seven and nine years of age. Nine year olds differed from five year olds on each aspect of their understanding. Younger children were not as likely to explain marital conflict in terms of the divergent goals of each parent.

Deaf children's understanding of emotions: desires take precedence

Article Abstract:

Research is presented concerning the ability of deaf 6- and 10- year old children to understand the emotions of other people. The priority placed by deaf children on expressing desires is discussed.
