Accuracy of health-related quality of life assessment: what is the benefit of incorporating patients' preferences for domain functioning?
Article Abstract:
This article examines psychological variables associated with accurately assessing quality of life issues related to health in outpatients. Findings indicate that incorporating a patient's beliefs about physical, emotional, and social functioning domains in assessment procedures significantly increases accuracy for subjects who have strong beliefs about the importance of each domain.

This article examines the psychometric properties of a widely-used psychological test designed to measure depression. Findings indicate that the test is an internally consistent, valid, and reliable measure of depression in primary care patients in a medical setting.
