Article Abstract:
The works of Winnett and Lewis (1995) and Ranyard and Craig (1995) both addressed mental and household accounts. The first work focused on savings behavior while the second focused on consumers' perceptions of instalment credit. It is argued that the results of these two studies are questionable because of the researchers' use of convenience samples and their reliance on people imagined behavior in hypothetical situations.
