AD/HD and the capture of attention by briefly exposed delay-related cues: evidence from a conditioning paradigm

Article Abstract:

The selective attention of children with attention deficit/hyperactive disorder (AD/HD) is examined using the dot-probe conditioning paradigm. The findings highlighted the motivational influence on attention and provided the first evidence of qualitative differences in attentional style of children with AD/HD.

Children of bipolar parents are at heightened risk for developing emotional disorders, but the processes underlying this vulnerability are not well understood. The study examines biases in the processing of emotional stimuli as a potential vulnerability marker of bipolar disorder.

Mind-reading difficulties in the siblings of people with Asperger's syndrome: evidence for a genetic influence in the abnormal development of a specific cognitive domain

Article Abstract:

Two group of participants were tested, the siblings group of children all of whom had a sibling with a diagnosis of Asperger's syndrome (AS) - a pervasive disorder of development. The siblings of AS children were significantly on the eye test than a group of matched control.
