A comparison of early family life events amongst monozygotic twin women with lifetime anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or major depression

Article Abstract:

A big sample of female twins from a large community that was studied to find out the effects of early family life on them regarding bulimia nervosa, anorexia nervosa and depression is discussed. Results show that paternal protection led at times to anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa could be associated with high levels of parental expectation.

Prevalence and correlates of eating disorders among Asian Americans: results from the National Latino and Asian American Study

Article Abstract:

Data obtained from the National Latino and Asian American Study is employed to analyze the lifetime and the correlates of the eating disorders commonly found in Asian Americans. The Asian American people are found to have low prevalence for such disorders.

Epidemiology of eating disorders: creating opportunities to move the current classification paradigm forward

Article Abstract:

Several epidemiological studies are conducted to identify and classify the different eating disorders prevalent among people of different communities. New tools for a proper assessment of the present classification system are required.
