A comparative meta-analysis of Rorschach and MMPI validity

Article Abstract:

The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and the Rorschach are the most commonly used assessment tools in psychology. There have been criticisms of the Rorschach, and a debate on the usefulness of both methods. A meta-analysis shows both methods to be useful. The MMPI appears to be more useful for studies where self-report measures and psychiatric diagnoses were used as criterion variables, and the Rorschach appears to have greater validity in studies where objective criterion variables were used.
