A characteristic reactive hypoglycemia induced by rapid change of eating behavior in anorexia nervosa: a case report

Article Abstract:

This article discusses the relationship between reactive hypoglycemia, insulin metabolism, and eating behavior in anorexia nervosa. The authors, evaluating a case study of an anorexic patient, conclude that a rapid increase of energy intake may cause reactive hypoglycemia with an elevated level of insulin secretion during an early phase of recovery.

Blood-letting in anorexia nervosa: A case study

Article Abstract:

Deliberate blood-letting is an established, although rare, feature of bulimia nervosa. A patient with anorexia nervosa who used blood-letting to maintain severe anemia with the aim of controlling her mental state is described.

Reversal of bone marrow hypoplasia in anorexia nervosa: Case report

Article Abstract:

Bone marrow hypoplasia appears to be uncommon in anorexia nervosa and is rapidly reversible. An anorexic patient with bone marrow hypoplasia was cured with recombinant human erythropoietin.
