The Chinese Communist Party, since 1982, has decided Marxism should tolerate religions of all kinds. Once socialist civilization has ended poverty, ignorance, and spiritual emptiness, religion will gradually disappear, but until that happens care will be taken to not offend any religious beliefs.

Article Abstract:

The Communist Party policy to reopen Buddhist and Daoist monasteries and temples was successful in its early stages. Damage to religious buildings needs to be repaired, monks and priests encouraged to return, and a Party member should be established as a liason at each reopened facility.

All Chinese Communist Party members must perform Party policy of religious tolerance carefully. As long as China's religious bodies administer their churches and temples without foreign interference, they are to be supported as legal entities.
