Article Abstract:

The rap music in the age of Eminem is desublimatated and looked at in a proper perspective. It is felt that Eminem is part of a long tradition of white sublimation of African American people and culture which points to a problem at the heart of U.S. history and society, the persistence of white racial oppression.

The founding director of the Hip-Hop Archive at Harvard University, one of the first to be devoted solely to Hip-Hop music and culture, Marcyliena Morgan, talks about the real Hip-Hop, existing in the underground. It is a place where truth can be spoken and skills learned and it belongs in any kind of university.
