Article Abstract:

New Zealand's planned environmental protection policy entitled Environment 2010 Strategy illustrates how successful a strategic environmental plan can be. It was probably implemented by the government for political, rather than environmental, reasons and focuses on economic, rather than environmental, goals. The strategy specifies the sustainable use of natural resources and public utility infrastructure.
