Opening China's bond market: catalyst to further reform and a jumpstart to the stalled WTO accession negotiations

Article Abstract:

The development and opening up of China's bond market is a measure that could speed up China's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) and help the country achieve its economic objectives. China's accession into the WTO could be facilitated by concessions that China could make to promote its interest and that of the WTO. The spillover effects of such concessions include more accurate economic statistics and more sound financial regulatory measures.
