Article Abstract:
General Office of the Ministry of Health, People's Republic of China, issued a Notice on the printing and publication of the 'Guidelines for Infection Control of Infectious Atypical Pneumonia in Hospitals'. These guiding principles were formulated on the basis of prevention and treatment experience gained in the foregoing period and hospitals were directed to adopt rigorous measures of disinfection, quarantining, and protection to control hospital infection.

Notice was issued to the Departments of Health (Bureaus) and Departments of Construction (Construction Commissions) of the People's Republic of China, with directives to strengthen guidance on the work of reconstructing hospitals that treat persons afflicted with contagious atypical pneumonia. The Notice included two attachments on `Important Criteria for Construction and Design of Hospitals' and `Demonstration Drawings for the Construction of Hospitals'.
