Networks and mobile arrangements: organisational innovation in the US environmental justice movement

Article Abstract:

Research into the political practice of networking in the US environmental justice movement indicates that this movement has acknowledged the limitations of past models of organizing and rejects that traditional strategy and structure. The environmental justice movement develops the notion of environment by defining it as the places in which people work, live and spend their leisure time, with environment being regarded as community. Strong emphasis is now placed on networking and alliance-building.

Responsibility and environmental governance

Article Abstract:

The analytical relevance of responsibility and environmental governance as a means of interpreting ongoing changes in policy approaches for evaluating their ability to cope with environmental changes are presented. The study shows that the responsiveness remains a neglected aspect and represents a major reason for debatable results of governance as regards environmental protection and recovery of institutional and corporate legitimacy and social trust.

Reconceiving environmental justice: global movements and political theories

Article Abstract:

A study of how the demands of global movement for environmental justice, help in developing a definition of 'environmental justice' at a global level are presented. The study shows the existence of three different notions of justice in the movement, simultaneously, demonstrates the plausibility of a plural yet unified theory and practice of justice.
