Mind warriors at the ready

Article Abstract:

United States relations with Iraq have been strained over the United Nations Security Council's Resolutions regarding Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. In dealing with Iraq, the historic strategies of containment and threats of military force may be counterproductive to the goal of trust and the country's eventual integration within the international community. Information Operations (IO) or propaganda warfare may be an alternate strategy for undermining the authority of Baghdad and its control of public opinion.

A war that cannot be won

Article Abstract:

The death of Abu Musab Al Zarqawi, the leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq and a Jordanian terrorist, which boosted the morale of coalition forces and the American administration, does not spell victory in the battle against insurgency, much less the 'war' on terror. The global war on terror which is fundamentally a political campaign can be fought and won only on political terms and not by declaring war on a few radical extremists living under the protection of the governments of Afghanistan and Iraq.
