Article Abstract:

This article discusses the effects of social change in Iran, specifically the conflict between traditional Muslim culture which focuses on family and concepts of modernity which emphasize the individual. The author discusses how these issues influenced the establishment of governmental reform in Iran in the 1970s to improve women's rights.

Article Abstract:

In this article former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright discusses the role of women in foreign policy, particularily in the Clinton administration. The rights of women are included on the American agenda, and no obstacles exist which prohibit women from participating in foreign policy or dealing with their foreign counterparts.
