Article Abstract:
The concepts of alienation and estrangement are explained in the literary-critical and theoretical approaches to science fiction by describing how these concepts work in their feminist, science-fictional and Marxist connotations in the novels by Rebecca Ore in Outlaw School and Nicola Griffith's Slow River. The adaptation of these terms in Marxist readings of science fiction and a feminist reappraisal of some of Marx's description is presented.
