Article Abstract:

Economic policy in Finland has played an important role in protecting the environment from agricultural farming methods. Surveys show that the social constructionist and policy network approaches have been consistently and successfully applied. Finland's membership to the European Union may have an impact on its agri-environmental policy-making. Finnish industry pollution statistics are shown.

The case study of Finnish agriculture is used to consider Europeanisation and ecological modernisation. A clear change has taken place in agri-environmental policy discourses. However, there are also signs of slowness in the process of ecological modernisation.
