European policymakers are starting to realize that Africa's economy, its political stability and good governance will be influenced more by the political attention, trade and investment it receives from China than with the aid supplied by Western nations. Europe needs a major shift in its economic growth, investment and trade strategy towards Africa in order to continue its influence over the continent.
