Issues are discussed regarding the possible effect on Taiwan-China relations of the Democratic Progressive Party victory in Taiwan's last presidential election. US intervention is possible in the event of a conflict, which could be a disaster for the stability and prosperity of the whole region. Mutual tension will increase as China grows stronger.
