Galanthamine is an alkaloid with inhibitory activity, which is used in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. This alkaloid is found in the Narcissus confusus plants, and a study has shown that the highest amount of alkaloids occur in the bulb at the emerging stage, galanthamine being the most abundant.

Article Abstract:
Three acetylated flavonol glycosides, plus some other compounds have recently been isolated from Centaurium spicatum plant. The anticomplement and antioxidant activities of these compounds were evaluated, and the triacetylated flavonoid glycoside showed the highest activity in the two assays.
