Ending animal testing

Article Abstract:

The British Home Office will not issue any further licenses for animal testing of cosmetic ingredients. The agency will permit testing to be carried out for medical and biological research. The European Commission is also addressing the issue. The Commission is now reviewing the Cosmetics Directive. Animal testing is scheduled to be banned by the year 2000 in the European Union.
