Alternatives to animal testing for contact allergy

Article Abstract:

A theoretical method and an empirical method have been developed for determining the existence of allergic contact dermatitis. Such techniques, which are founded on earlier established precedents, are reliant on literature case reports and epidemiology information in formulating the margin of risk posed by new formulations. It has been found that synthetic or natural chemicals trigger the occurence of the syndrome in people. There are different mathematical models produced which can definitely define the nature of allergens and non-allergens although the degree to which these can produce symptoms of the syndrome has yet to be explored.
