Article Abstract:

Pain strikes people from all economic and social backgrounds and sometimes is so extreme that it leads the victims to murder or suicide. Fortunately, pain has become more controllable, but it is necessary for such information to be communicated to both medical personnel and consumers.

Can grandparent caregivers find help?

Article Abstract:

One source of help for grandparents with custody of their grandchildren is ROCKING, an organization that provides links to support groups. Others include Grandparents United for Children's Rights and the National Coalition of Grandparents.

Caregivers take legislative gains one step at a time

Article Abstract:

Older American Act Amendments of 1992 include the availability of grants to state plans that make use of caregiver in-home services. There has been no funding provided for 1993, but the value of caregiver services has been recognized.
