Small caps are hot-long bonds are not

The market trends shows that small caps is becoming increasingly popular than long term bonds .The market results for March 2006 showed that small caps, along with energy stocks and REITs have surpassed large caps, while precious metals lead the way in International market offerings, along with foreign small caps and Japan-stock funds although the emerging-market stocks and Latin American funds trailed behind the other foreign funds and the long-term bonds gave the worst returns.

Bonds and stocks alike head south

Article Abstract:

The performance of most of the bonds and stocks in March 2005, which mostly had negative returns, is described. Most of the domestic-values funds lost ground with some notable exceptions, average small-value funds lost 2.7 percent and it was a good month in relative terms for most of the hedge stock funds.

Royce Premier is the best open mutual fund and its success has created a very large asset base, which is usually a drawback for the small-cap funds. Chuck Royce started this compact fund in 1991 and his investing with conviction formula allows it to handle its girth better than its siblings.
