Officials at the Federal Drug Administration say well manufactured generic drugs are just as reliable as brand-name prescription drugs. Consumers may be wary of generic drugs because of the negative connotation of the word, but those perceptions are false. The FDA requires extensive testing before generic drugs are approved.
