Article Abstract:

ANZ Bank won the 2005 bank of the year award for excellence. The Personal Investor magazine has instituted the award. A brief profile of ANZ Bank is presented. Other awards related to banking sector, like the credit union of the year award and savings institution of the year award are also mentioned. The factors that gave these companies a lead over the other companies in their categories are discussed. One of the important criteria is the customer service provided by these companies.

Upfront Investor: financial planners doing better

Article Abstract:

A survey by the Australian Investors Association (AIA) reveals that consumers regard financial planners as undereducated, under-regulated and biased. Bob Andrew, president of AIA, suggests that customers consistently expect a higher standard on a range of areas than is required by the new law or current industry standards.

Article Abstract:

The experiences of Paul Tattersall and Peggy Lodge regarding home swapping, who always loved traveling and kept changing homes in Canada, Britain and all around Australia are discussed. According to them, home swapping can be considered as a good way to save on the costs of accommodation.
