Some 25-30 new drugs become available every year and, although manufacturers are required to test them for 'suspected' interactions, many unsuspected interactions can take place. In fact, some $20 billion is spent annually on people hospitalized for the effects of prescription drugs.

Article Abstract:

Thousands of complaints are filed annually by automobile leasing customers, with many of the complaints coming about because of a lack of information on the capitalized cost of the car. Regulations are being revised. Meanwhile, customers should shop carefully and negotiate.

Prison care: our penitentiaries are turning into nursing homes. Can we afford it?

The number of prisoners over 50 will grow from 55,000 in 1995 to more than 125,000 in 2000, increasing the demand for health care in prisons and raising prison costs. The Project for Older Prisoners is promoting early release of aged prisoners as one solution.
