Age discrimination still on the rise

Article Abstract:

The 1967 Age Discrimination in Employment Act was established to protect workers over 40 who are laid off or have trouble finding work because they have more experience and are worthy of higher salary compensation. AARP is actively working with companies to show them the benefits of retaining experienced employees in restructured jobs.

AARP on privatizing Social Security funds

Article Abstract:

The National Legislative Council of AARP is against changes in Social Security that would permit individual replacement of contributions with private accounts. However, the council has recommended consideration of such investments made by the Social Security Trustees for the trust fund.
