A good month for stocks but bonds suffer a setback

The month of July 2005 was a good month for stocks as strong earnings from corporate America lifted stocks in the US companies but bond funds lost ground as the average intermediate bond fund lost 0.5%. Internet and technology stocks helped the technology category to gain 6.3% and the natural resources category gained 7.5% due to solid earnings and level energy prices.

One more low-correlation asset that can be added to ones portfolio is bonds. Details of three funds, which represent very different pieces of the market and include Fidelity Intermediate Municipal Income, Harbor Bond and Loomis Sayles Bond, are given.
