Article Abstract:
Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are becoming a multibillion-dollar industry, spurred by a growing number of global conflicts, and increased outsourcing of aid work by Western governments and the boom in private philanthropy. However, it is becoming clear that NGOs have vested political interests, as well as financial motives with the need to attract aid, but unlike governments, they are not elected, and unlike businesses they are not subject to the curbing forces of the marketplace.

Issues are presented concerning the exposure of conflicts of interest following the failure of many Internet based business enterprises. The need for improved regulation of the securities industry is discussed.

Since the Nasdaq exchange took off, many others started up, such as Easdaq in Belgium and Kosdaq in South Korea. However some of those exchanges have fallen into scandal an dispute.
