Up, up and delay

Article Abstract:

The success of Australia's biggest infrastructure investment, the purchase of 100 new-generation F-35 Joint Strike Fighter aircraft for an estimated $12 billion, is critical to Australia's defence as well as to the Australian taxpayer. But there are signs that the project faces huge cost blow-outs, unforeseen technical problems and a potential delay, which could leave Australia with a dangerous capability gap.
