Unstoppable forces

Article Abstract:

Economic need remains the dominant factor that propels Mexican immigration to the US. Increasingly, analysts believe that political solutions between the US and Mexico would have more significant effects on the problem of illegal immigration than would INS enforcement of immigration policies. With the North American Free Trade Agreement under negotiation, experts hope that the flow of illegal aliens into the US will be reduced by the availability of more jobs in Mexico. However, new Mexican laws could spur more migration and a sudden reduction in the number of illegal aliens remains unlikely.
